JOnAS 5.3.0 M2

Hi all We're proud to annouce a new milestone version of JOnAS 5.3 : OW2 JOnAS 5.3.0 M2. We're still on the road to Java EE 6 Web Profile with a web focused version. You can choose between Tomcat 6/7 and Jetty 6/8 for the web container. Two JSF 2.0 implementations are also supported: Apache MyFaces and the Oracle Reference Implementation, both of them being TCK tested. The JOnAS Audit System has also been improved, with additional JaxWs data (web services). There are also numerous bugs fixes: * Servlet 3.0 Async support has been fixed into Tomcat 7 * WEB-INF/web.xml is now optional * PreparedStatement's cache has been optimized * ... JOnAS 5.3.0 M2 can be downloaded here.

JOnAS 5.3.0-M1 : Ready to serve

Hi all

 This is quite a busy week: earlier this week was released JOnAS 5.2.0, the first stable release of the 5.2 series, and today we distribute version 5.3 M1 !

 So, what's http://jira.ow2.org/secure/ReleaseNote.jspa?projectId=10010&version=10152&">http://jira.ow2.org/secure/ReleaseNote.jspa?projectId=10010&version=10152">new in 5.3 ?
First, 5.3 series targets http://jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=316"&">http://jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=316">Java EE 6 web profile : a web oriented subset of the Java EE specifications. During the 5.3 development cycle, we will incrementaly add support for the required specifications. Thanks to the recent Oracle Java EE Licensee Scholarship renewal, we'll have a lot of tests to ensure compliance

JOnAS 5.3 includes an initial support for JSF 2.0 (Mojarra 2), Servlet 3.0 (Tomcat 7) and JAX-WS 2.2 (CXF 2.3). It already have CDI 1.0, JAX-RS 1.1, Bean Validation 1.0, JPA 2.0 and EJB 3.1 preliminary support.

In parallel of the Java EE related work, we've moved away from HSQL to H2 as our default in-memory JDBC database, ensured that JOnAS was running well on Java 7, upgraded our components to their latest versions (Felix 3.2.0, ...) and many more bug fixes...
Last but not least, we have a brand new Web services testing console in jonasAdmin.

JOnAS 5.2.0 : Ready to roll

Hi all

We're very pleased to announce the release of JOnAS 5.2.0 Final.
This version is the first stable release of the JOnAS 5.2 serie.

We've made some changes to ensure that this version will run nicely on Java 7.
Tomcat 7 integration issues have been fixed as well as other small bug fixes.

There are also plenty of bug fixes and components upgrades to provides better security, more performances and an always up to date JOnAS experience.

This is the first release candidate of JOnAS 5.2.x. If no major complaints are raised, the 5.2.0 stable version of JOnAS will be released soon.

JOnAS 5.2 M5 is on its way to Java EE 6: CDI / EJB 3.1 Singleton / JPA 2.0 / Bean Validation / JAX-RS 1.1, Servlet 3.0 (+ updated JSP and EL) are supported.
A new nice features has been introduced in this version : The MBean explorer tool which is available in the jonasAdmin console allows to read/write/invoke the MBeans attributes/methods embedded in JOnAS.
This is the last milestone before the first Release Candidate. There are also plenty of bug fixes and components upgrades to provides better security, more performances and an always up to date JOnAS experience.

  • Accessing the OSGi console is now available from jonas-admin web console: managing bundles, inspecting dependencies, OBR usage and more ...
